Below are the current job openings at Marauders' Map. Please do not apply for anything that is not below. Also, please note that all positions are volunteer.
Marauding the Map Transcriber
Needed: 1
The transcriber for Marauders' Map will take on the daunting/tedious task of transcribing our Marauding the Map podcast episodes. The position will require time enough to sit down and transcribe each episode within a few days of its release. This way, those that might not have iTunes or a computer that will play large audio files will be able to at least read through our episodes and theories. Requires spelling/grammar skills and enormous focus. All applications accepted; 15+ years of age preferable.
FanFiction Moderator
Needed: 3
Anyone interested in the FanFiction Moderator (FFMod) position will carry the responsibility of making sure fanfiction posted in Marauders' Map's FanFiction Archive is appropriate and/or labeled as required. FFMods also provide feedback to the authors to keep them writing and improve their work on a regular basis. The FFMods are responsible for creating a fun, exciting environment for authors so that MMap is a place where authors will want to post and won't get discouraged. All FFMods report to and work directly with the FanFiction Administrator. Impeccable grammar/spelling skills are needed and can NOT be overlooked for this position as well as some VERY basic HTML knowledge that, if not known to the applicant, can be taught upon hiring.
Designer
Needed: 1
The designer will be responsible for coding new pages on the site and maintaining already constructed pages. The designer will work under the Principle Designer (Webmaster) and will have direct contact with the Principle Designer (Webmaster) for all work. Must have fluent HTML skills with some basic understanding of PHP, though we would be more likely to accept someone fluent in both.
Content/Advertisement Manager
Needed: 1
The Content/Advertisement Manager will be in charge of gathering information to update the various pages on the site, as well as actively advertising for the site. Content Managing will involve finding Harry Potter-oriented pictures, statistics, and facts to be placed on the pages and organizing under which pages the content should be displayed. Advertisement Managing will involve actively seeking opportunities to advertise for the site, and actively, though responsibly plugging for the site where allowed in the HP Fandom. The Content/Advertisement Manger will work with the Design team to ensure the information is posted correctly and accurately, and all advertisment banners/graphics needed are made. Must conduct self in an extremely professional manner and show dedication. Additionally, age will be a factor during the hiring and interview process, but we will not oust anyone EXCLUSIVELY because of age. 17+ years of age preferable.
